Hello, I’m Cynthia Dimon, LCSW
Licensed Psychotherapist | Oakland, CA & Online Across California
I believe women are far more than the pain or labels they’ve carried.
My practice is about helping you untangle the past so you can feel lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself. I work with women throughout the Bay Area, especially those in BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities who want a space where they don’t have to explain or shrink themselves to be understood.
I grew up in Oakland, and I bring that lived perspective along with more than a decade of clinical experience and years teaching counseling psychology at the graduate level. My style is warm and honest, and humor is welcome. Together, we’ll focus on rebuilding self-trust, restoring confidence, and creating a life that feels aligned with who you really are.

My first clinical internship was at a residential facility for women facing substance use and interpersonal trauma. I saw first hand how stigma convinced many that they didn’t deserve help, a belief I’ve dedicated my career to dismantling.
When I transitioned into private practice, my goal was simple: help clients claim the right to tools that allow them to grow, heal, and thrive. While colleagues sometimes describe my work as “helping people realize their dreams,” I see it as helping clients reclaim their own agency to live life on their terms.

Nature, creativity, and music keep me grounded. Whether I’m hiking in the Oakland Hills, sewing my own clothes, or discovering a new playlist, I draw inspiration from these moments of connection and I bring that same spirit into therapy. Together, we’ll work toward building a life that reflects your values and aspirations.
